BINSEY REPAIR FUND

Our five-yearly architect’s report revealed that serious repairs are required to St Margaret’s Church in Binsey. These include work to the bells and roof (plugging a leak) and to the walls. Initial estimates are that the costs will be in excess of £20,000. These repairs need to be undertaken as soon as possible to prevent further deterioration, and to enable us to keep St Margaret’s open to the many visitors who come throughout the year.

Further details will appear here about the repairs needed and our fund-raising plans.

STOP PRESS: There will be a village fete to raise money for the fund on Sunday 20th July 2008, St Margaret’s Day. The fete will be from 12 - 5pm, including fairground rides, a hog roast, stalls and activities for all ages. There will be a procession to St Margaret’s leaving the village green at 3pm in time for the blessing of the well and festal evensong at 3.30pm.

STOP PRESS: Buy children’s books with DVDs to support Binsey Church Repair Fund.
